What is a Capital Campaign?
A Capital Campaign is an intensive fundraising effort to meet a specific financial goal within a specified period of time for one or more major projects that are out of the ordinary, such as the construction of a facility, the purchase of equipment, or the acquisition of endowment. A capital campaign anticipates major gifts to meet or exceed the financial goal.
Serious donors expect acknowledgement through recognition, permanent recognition. To many of the donors this is advertising and enhances the community image of their company. The average expenditure for donor recognition programs is 4-6% of the amount given.
